In general buildings, the area of doors and windows accounts for 30% of the external structural area of the building, and the energy consumption of doors and windows accounts for 40% to 50% of the heat loss of the external structure of the building, which accounts for a considerable proportion of the building's energy consumption. Therefore, the development of new insulation doors and windows is the main direction of the current door and window industry.

The glass area in the window accounts for 58% to 87% of the window area. Due to the low thermal resistance of ordinary glass, single-layer glass is the weak link in window insulation and energy saving. Practice both domestically and internationally has proven that the use of insulated glass is an important way to achieve energy efficiency in doors and windows.

Hollow glass has various structures and combinations. And the commonly used ordinary insulating glass often adopts a groove aluminum structure. Slot aluminum insulated glass appeared earlier, and compared with ordinary glass, it has superior insulation, heat insulation, sound insulation, anti frost and dew condensation properties.  

There are two main types of slotted aluminum insulated glass: one is single channel sealing, and the other is double channel sealing. The sealing effect of window glass in single channel sealing is poor, which is prone to moisture and difficult to meet the requirements of use. Therefore, double channel sealing is often used in buildings. The production process involves applying butyl rubber on both sides of an aluminum partition frame filled with molecular sieves, bonding the edges of the two glass pieces together, and then applying a layer of polysulfide adhesive on the outside of the aluminum partition frame and between the two glass pieces. The aluminum partition frame provides good support for the two glass pieces, and the molecular sieves used as desiccants ensure the dryness of the air inside the insulating glass, extending its service life.  

Hollow glass, as a superior energy-saving building material for windows and a mature high-tech product, has increasingly received attention from relevant authorities in China. In recent years, with the expansion of building energy conservation and application fields, insulated glass production enterprises have also experienced significant development. Fortunately, there has been a new change in people's concept of building price performance ratio, and some smart real estate developers have adopted insulated glass with excellent sound insulation performance as a new selling point, attracting the attention of home buyers. Many regions have invariably used insulated glass in the construction of "green" residential demonstration areas. And the fact has also proven that the promotion of insulated glass will effectively reduce building energy consumption, thus becoming a major technical measure to achieve national building energy conservation.
