What are the types of Building Glass?

Types of Building Glass
Firstly, transparent glass: Transparent glass is the most common type of glass, with good transparency, which can ensure sufficient indoor lighting and make full use of natural light sources. Therefore, it is widely used in office buildings, libraries, commercial buildings, and other places.
Next is tempered glass: Tempered glass is glass that has undergone special treatment on the original glass plate. After tempering in the tempering furnace, its strength and stiffness can be greatly improved, and it has good impact resistance.

Even when subjected to strong external forces, it will not shatter into sharp blocks like ordinary glass, but only form small particles, with a safety level 2-3 times that of ordinary glass. It is widely used in large building curtain walls, balcony handrails, and other places.

The third is laminated glass: laminated glass is a type of glass with a layer of PVB film sandwiched between two layers of glass, which has good sound and heat insulation properties, can effectively isolate external noise, and maintain stable indoor temperature. Therefore, it is commonly used in buildings facing the street or buildings that require a constant temperature environment.
The fourth is reflective glass: as the name suggests, it is glass that can reflect light sources. Through reflection, it can reduce the accumulation of sunlight and heat, thereby reducing energy consumption inside buildings.
On the other hand, it can also use the principle of reflection to avoid external scrutiny of the internal environment, thereby protecting indoor privacy.
The fifth is LOW-E glass: LOW-E glass is coated with a layer of metal film on the surface of the glass, which can reduce heat conduction and ultraviolet penetration, effectively reduce energy conduction and scattering, and fully ensure indoor lighting. Therefore, it is often used in energy-saving buildings.

Finally, colored glass: Colored glass is sprayed with different colors on the surface of the glass according to user needs, thereby increasing its artistic appeal and achieving a good decorative effect.
However, it should be noted that the transparency of colored glass is generally poor, and careful selection should be made when using it. We often see windows in Western churches made of colored glass.
