Introduction to deep processing of photovoltaic glass

The deep processing process of photovoltaic glass includes two steps: tempering and coating. Tempering aims to enhance the strength of the glass, while coating is to coat a layer of anti reflective film on the tempered glass to increase its transmittance. Both the tempering and coating processes require a high temperature treatment of around 700 ℃. Therefore, in order to control costs, glass deep processing enterprises often adopt the method of tempering glass and film layer heat treatment simultaneously.
Tempered glass is a secondary processed product of flat glass.
The processing of tempered glass can be divided into physical tempering method and chemical tempering method
Physical tempered glass, also known as quenched tempered glass, works by heating the glass above its softening point temperature and rapidly and uniformly quenching it to create significant compressive stress on the surface, thereby improving its ability to resist external forces;
Chemical tempering, also known as ion exchange strengthening method, works by changing the surface composition of glass through ion exchange in molten salt, enhancing the stress of the glass and improving its stability and mechanical properties.
Thin glass tempered by chemical method has stronger flatness and mechanical strength than that tempered by physical method. However, the broken state of thin glass tempered by chemical method is needle like, which is unsafe to break; In terms of production, compared to chemical methods, physical methods have lower costs, higher production efficiency, and pollution-free waste discharge.
At present, the tempered glass in solar cell modules adopts physical tempering method, and the strength after tempering can reach 4-6 times that of ordinary flat glass; And tempered glass immediately splits into small particles without sharp corners after breaking, making it the most commonly used safety glass.
The coating process involves depositing a layer of anti reflective film on the surface of glass, thereby reducing the reflectivity of light on the glass surface and increasing its transmittance. Practice has proved that the use of antireflection coating glass can improve the power generation efficiency of photovoltaic modules by 2.5%, which is a cheap and effective way to improve the power generation efficiency of photovoltaic modules. The deposition of antireflection coating of photovoltaic glass is mainly produced by sol-gel method.
